Aloo Pies

This is my Grandma's Aloo pie recipe. They keep well in the freezer. Pop them into a toaster oven frozen then scoop on tamarind sauce (or whatever sauce your into). They make an amazing after work snack or lazy dinner. Obvi they are best right out of the pan.

Dough
2 c Flour
2 tsp Baking powder
0.5 tsp Salt
0.75 c water

 Filling
4 medium taters
To taste - Salt, Pepper, Chili Peppers and Ground Cumin

1. Mix all the dough ingredients and knead lightly - cover the dough ball with a second bowl or a clean wet clot
2. Boil the potatoes until cooked and mash 'em up with the spices
3. Divide the dough into 9 loyah's (balls) smush them into 10 cm ish circles fill it with delicious potato mush; wet one edge with water  and fold it in half, lovingly enclosing all the filling.
4. Fry them in oil (as deep as you dare!) until they are golden brown and look delicious then drain them on some paper towel.
