Another recipe from Grandma.
1.5 c. Flour
1.5 c. Rolled Oats
1 tsp Baking Soda
0.75 c. Brown Sugar
0.5 tsp Coarse Salt
0.75 c. Shortening
Blend it all in a bowl 'till its crumbly
Press 0.66 of the mixture into a 10X12 pan
1 pkg Pitted Dates
0.25 c. Lemon Juice
Grated peel of one orange
1 tsp cinammon
0.75 c. Brown sugar
1 c. water
Boil this mixture until its thick. Spread it on top of the pressed crumbles then top it off with the remaining third of crumbles.
Bake at 375 for 25 mins or until light brown.
